Just tell him from me (no, go ahead and do it now please) that his Cropredy set excelled even his standards, and I’ve followed his music for 40 years. Big thanks for the best anti-war song ever (that’s not hyperbole), overwhelming at such close quarters. The L&L set also superb, but his set was unforgettable. Please thank him.
Thoroughly enjoyed RT at Cropredy with my brother (also a huge fan) and a new friend we made through the music.
saw you @ the cropredy w/e for the 1st time - AWESOME!! Well done, want to go to one of your gigs now.
Saw you at Cropredy! First Folk festival I have been to looking forward to seeing you next year!
Southampton, UK 08/09/07
The Brook, 09/08/07, the best yet. Blistering, magnificent and amazing. Especially Hard on Me and I Still Dream, great to hear Wall of Death and singalong to Tear Stained Letter. I cannot think how Richard or any of the band can better this performance. Loved the duelling Saxes with Pete Zorn and Pete(?) Thomas. Great venue, glad to hear it's going from strength to strength.Looking forward to the Roundhouse in October.
Saw the Southampton gig (40 years after I first saw Fairport in London). Best performance of any band I've seen for a long, long time!
Wolverhampton UK 08/07/07
We saw Richard for the tird time at the Robin, Bilston on 8th August - Richard and the band were brilliant. Only one complaint - 2 hours plus was not enough!
Fantastic show in Wolverhampton! It was great hearing, seeing and meeting you. Thanks for all your great and inspiring work!
Sheffield, UK 08/07/07
Great, great Sheffield gig. Great playing, great songs, one of the best planned sets we've ever seen, and the best band - all brilliant. One minor gripe - choice of venue. Despite his liittle joke at the start of the set ("nice to see old people standing up"), we'd actually rather sit down, because it wasn't the best venue to enjoy his music. Please go back to the Lyceum.
Saw Richard live in Sheffield last week. First time I've seen him live since 1968 at Thurmaston, Leicester!! great stuff!!
I came to the Sheffield Gig @ The Plug last week and enjoyed Richard and his band’s fantastic performance. Have been listening to the album and what, in my opinion, is one of the greatest songs ever. (Take Care the Road you Choose) Please tell Richard – this song is a classic. Blown over by this song – thank you very much for the inspiration!!
Enjoyed great gig at the Plug in Sheffield 7th August, to add to my collection of many superb live RT performances that I have enjoyed.
Lewes, UK 08/04/07
Blimey - listening for more than 40 years to RT. Saw his fab and funny set at Lewes Guitar Festival which means I've now heard RT play the 1812 Overture. Hurrah! Great night. Please come to Lewes again. We'll put you up.
Saw Richard last night at the Lewes Guitar Festival and my brother and I were blown away, what a performance by one man and his guitar. Next time maybe my son will join us (he's 14 and just getting into my music collection). Thanks for the music Richard, it has been wonderful over the years.
Saw you last night in Lewes, and to say you were absolutely amazing is an understatement. "Bees Wing" is stunningly beautiful. Of course I remember Fairport Convention but it's only now that I am consciously searching out your music, and thanking heaven that I'm finally catching up! Better late than
Lewes Guitar Festival - what a show!
Tewksbury, UK 08/02/07
Just seen Richard at the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury. Fantastic, what a talent, Sunset Song amazing, goose bump material. Thank you.
Thank you so much for rescheduling the Tewkesbury concert after the floods. The concert was beyond our expectations, and we have very high expectations! As for the anti-depressant woman, she ought to know you are the Ingmar Bergman of song! See you in Bristol in October
Nuremberg, Germany 07/29/07
Thank you very much for the brilliant gig in Nuremberg. One of my friends saw you for the first time and she said: "There MUST be another guitarist somewhere!" Now I´m looking forward to the Cropredy festival.
Richard, thousand thanks for coming to Nuremberg. A lifetime experience and a superb performance, simply perfect. Hope you not forget your German Fans in the Future.
Mullingar, IR 07/28/07
amazing lyrics, guitar playing and melodies wonderful set at midlands music festival in mullingar ireland the best of the whole festival
Falmouth, UK 07/25/07
The concert in Cardiff was good. However, the concert in Falmouth was excellent. I really enjoyed the two concerts. They were worth the trip from Norway.
Thank you for Falmouth - please come down again soon
Just had a wonderful evening listening to RT in Falmouth. Maybe a top 5 gig of all time. Wonderful songs, playing and presence. We were talking after about an early male Fairport appearance at the London Palladium with the Incredible String Band and Fairport coming on doing the Tiller Girls, and how tentative Richard's voice was then and how wonderful it has become. Thanks so much!
Cardiff, UK 07/24/07
Great show at the point in Cardiff 24th july. Closest I've seen Mr T since the Howff in regents park (?1973)
LOST somewhere at the Point Cardiff: one bottom jaw, dropped to the floor during the opener (Bathsheba Smiles) and not seen since! Nice one Mr T.
Saw Richard in cardiff 24th July 07. Fourth time of seeing him solo... and was the best by a long way. As it was a smaller venue(500capacity) and being fortunate enough to be at the front... was so good to actually watch the master close up. I mean... you stand there .. you're seeing his fingers.. your hearing the noise from the guitar... and yet.. you're still dumbfounded as to how he does it. Oh well I can only dream of having a 10th of the masters ability. TOTALLY OUTSTANDING GIG !
Guilford, UK 07/14/07
I was lucky enough to see Richard last time he played Guilfest. What a fantasic set it just kept getting better and better. One of the best live acts I have ever seen.
An amazing sunset with a glorious full rainbow over the stage to match one of the best guitarist and artist there is to see..... no other artist/act bettered at Guilfest on Sat. and it was a relief to finally see someone who 'knew the business'... others should look, listen and learn. Thanks
