"Reno, NV 9/19/04"
Went to Reno to see your show yesterday. I loved it. I hope you do some more solo shows around the San Francisco Bay area |
"Saw RT in Reno last night (9/19), best version of 52 Vincent, Shoot out the Lights, and I Misunderstood I have heard yet." |
"Flew from Seattle to Reno... (""It's a long long way down to Reno, NV "") for the concert on 9/19/04. Another great show even if the weather was very cold. This makes my 4th RT show for 2004. (Portland, Seattle, Dublin, Ohio) I will make it 5 when I attend 1000 Years in Ann Arbor in Oct." |

"That was a cold one in reno baby, but i only saw 2 people leave early - and they had to be carried out-hypothermic!" |

"San Luis Obispo, CA 9/17/04"
"Richard Thompson's performance is a world of music. A world you can live in -- a real world, not a plastic world. It has twigs and rocks and.. flying toasters! (?) When you go into it to play, you might scrape your knees a bit or get bonked on the head. But you will come back breathless and excited by all the new things you've seen. And the stirrings in your soul and the memories you found there will stay with you, even after you come back to this world." |
"Richard Thompson uses his absolute mastery of guitar and song, not to create perfect music, but to create a music real. Random event, accident, and spontaneous dialogue with the audience combine with his powerful musical force at play create a rich experience unique within the genre. This is jazz in the alternative folk/rock setting and this is not to be missed" |
"Again, thank you Richard for a great evening, a great experience. We hope to see you again soon. Perhaps you'll come back and christen the new Cuesta Performing Arts Center when it is built!" |
We saw him last night for the first time live in San Luis Obispo. Awesome! |
Saw a wonderful show in the Cuesta College auditorium on the central coast of California. The intimate setting and wooden structure acoustics made for a special night with RT for the 300 or so lucky enough to be there. RT was in excellent form on the guitar and voice. RT wasw kind enough to come out after and sign my vinyl album cover of SOTL and a picture with my twin brother. It was our birthday and we are both big fans.i |

Come back to San Luis Obispo again soon! We loved it! |

"Saratoga, California 9/12/04"
"Just wanted to say that last night's show at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA. was superb. Richard guitar playing and singing were great. His banter between songs made everyone laugh and feel a part of the show. My wife and I are big fans and love seeing him perform live." |
"Intoxicating concert at Villa Montalvo, Saratoga last Sunday. See you in San Francisco at Bimbo's." |
"Grand Targhee, Wyoming 8/15/04"
"It was great chatting with you at the Grand Targhee Music Festival and absolutely marvelous to listen to your performance. Glad your predisposition to bringing 'rain' to outdoor festivals did not come to fruition! Please consider returning to the Tetons next year (or any year for that matter). It was truly a pleasure to watch and listen to a master craftsman. P.S. My daughter (who is 9 and was one of the hula hoopers)thought you were 'hot' stuff and I totally agree with her assessment. Thanks again for being at the festival." |

"Boise, Idaho 08/13/04"
"just returned from rt's solo show at egyptian theatre in boise, idaho. incredable as always. wonderful small venue with great crowd. boise not on rt's regular circuit and folks really appreciated the visit. hope he returns soon!" |
"Richard just played Boise last Friday, the 13th (a very lucky day!). It was the first time I'd ever seen him perform live--I think it was the best show I've ever seen, and since I was born and raised in San Francisco--where everyone who is anyone plays--I've seen alot of first-rate performers. Everyone who attended the concert, including the manager of The Egyptian Theater where he appeared, wants him to return. I bet he could sell out the place if he came back tomorrow--he did a long show, but it wasn't long enough for his fans here. I hope he comes back soon!" |

Superb one man show at Musikfest last eve. Better live than recorded. (probably my sound system.) I have only 3 RT CDs. I have a lot of catching up to do! |

"Wow, I saw Richard Thompson live for the first time at Musikfest. What an incredible show. I was a big fan of his music, but after seeing his 2 hour, 3 encore show, I am hooked for life. Thank you Richard for an awesome evening. Please make Musikfest an annual stop. Your audience loved you!" |

I just had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Thompson in concert. He almost makes me wish I had never attempted to learn the guitar. Theres good and then there is special. |
